This work was part of an ongoing celebration that lasted throughout the year 2008, for the 400th anniversary of Quebec City. Traditionally, the representations of the city's cultural heritage are mainly focused on its colonial past. With this work, a more anonymous approach to the city’s memory is suggested. During the performance, several excerpts from videographic archives that belong to different families who lived in the city are projected and processed live by the instrumental group. These homemade videos, close to cinema-vérité, reveal in almost an anonymous way, important moments in the life of those families (anniversary, wedding, travels, etc...). The music’s aim is not to represent the narrative aspect of the different video excerpts but is intended to send back the listener to his own action of remembering. Therefore, it is like if the main focus was not really on the video image but more on the person looking.
